Feb 15-19, 2016. Bartimaeus Kinsler Institute: Landscapes of Trauma, Stories of Healing: Women in Luke’s Gospel

Our faith tradition arose out of traumatic experiences of captivity, exile and occupation.  This lens will help guide our exploration of key texts from Luke’s gospel, particularly stories about the women who raised, followed and found liberation in Jesus.  We will look at basic trauma theory, recognizing patterns of transmission and post-traumatic stress, their impact in our families and communities, and how to work towards personal and political healing. 

We returned to Forest Home, where over 50 participants met together for five days. A photo essay is available here (PDF 550KB).
