Digging In: Heels, Histories, Hearts

| | |

Feb 19-23, 2018 Kinsler Bartimaeus Institute:

As we face the second year of the Trump regime, we are challenged to “dig in our heels” by deepening and broadening our resistance and resilience.  To do this wisely we must “delve into our histories,” exploring the roots of our individual and collective stories in order to animate repentance and restorative justice.  And to sustain this work we need to “excavate our hearts,” recovering from our addictions and renewing our spirits for long term healing and movement building.

Though the beautiful landscapes and communities of our Ventura River watershed have endured the devastating, climate-induced Thomas fire, our hearts still burn with a vocation of “church as Movement,” and we invite you to join us for an inspiring and capacity-building experience of “Movement as church.”

101 participants came together from across North America for this week of learning, reflection, connection and sharing. Once again Forest Home was our oasis in the midst of the recently-scorched Ventura River watershed.

Our Program Book (PDF 4.9MB) tells you what you missed, and this Photo Essay (PDF 700KB) shows you!  Selected talks from the 2018 Kinsler Institute are available as Bartcasts (Episodes 8, 9, 12, 13 and 17).
